Tiger Fist

 Tiger Fist

History: This southern style originated in Yongfu city in Fujian province during the reign of Qing dynasty Emperor Qianlong. Its founder was named Li Yuan Chiu, who studied kungfu as a child, but then imitated tigers to add to his training.
Originally it had two forms: Muquan (mother or primary fist) and Zidiluquan (claw first form fist). Master Li had two star pupils. Zhen Dan Guang possessed great leg technique and Li Zhou Bei had fantastic tiger claws. Excellence in Tiger Fist is still noted with the remark "Dan Guang Tui, Zhou Bei Shou" (Dan Guang's leg, Zhou Bei's arms). Today, Tiger Fist is popular in Fujian, Shanxi, Guangdong, Hong Kong, as well as Japan, North America and Europe.
