TAI SHING

Tai Shing /Monkey Style

History: Tai Shing was created near the turn of the century at the end of the Qing dynasty by Kou-Sze, then a prisoner with a background of northern style kungfu. During his time in prison he was able to observe from his window the daily play of monkeys, and from his observations he created the style of Monkey kungfu. It includes the tall monkey form, the lost monkey form, the drunken monkey form, the wooden monkey form and the stone monkey form. Kou-Sze passed his art down to Ken Tak Hoi, who passed it to Cho Chi Fung and Cho Chat Ling.
